Ledesma: a digital transformation within reach of 6,500 employees

Sugar, paper, fruit, and livestock. Ledesma operates across multiple industries, with employees working in the field, at production plants, and in offices throughout the country. Reaching everyone through a single channel seemed difficult, but Humand made it possible.

The challenge of connecting a diverse and distributed organization

With employees working in fields, industrial plants, and administrative offices across several provinces, Ledesma faced a common challenge among large organizations: ensuring that internal communications and HR services reached everyone, regardless of their location or role.

Distance was not the only obstacle. The available tools were not agile or intuitive enough, especially for employees who did not usually work in front of a computer. As a result, part of the workforce remained beyond HR’s reach, while information was shared through fragmented channels, arrived late, or, in some cases, did not arrive at all.

A tool accessible to everyone

Ledesma was looking for a simple, agile, and mobile-accessible solution that did not require technical knowledge or complex training processes. The experience needed to be just as intuitive for a field operator as it was for an administrative employee.

Humand met this need with an easy-to-adopt platform that could be accessed from anywhere. By allowing employees to log in directly from their phones, more people were able to access information and HR services, overcoming a challenge the company had faced for years.

More direct, accessible, and autonomous management

The implementation of Humand not only enabled Ledesma to digitize processes, but also transformed the way the People team interacts with employees. Today, many tasks that previously depended on intermediaries, emails, or inaccessible tools can be completed directly from a mobile phone.

Some of the most frequently used modules include:

  • Documents: Employees can access their payslips and employment documents without relying on other channels. Digital signatures also streamline processes that previously required more steps and follow-up from the People team.
  • Service Management: Requests, questions, and complaints are submitted through a formal and organized channel. This makes it easier to track each case, improves response times, and gives employees greater visibility into the status of their requests.
  • Internal Communications: Information reaches the entire workforce directly, including employees working in fields or production plants. This allows Ledesma to reduce its reliance on intermediaries and prevent messages from being lost or reaching different groups unevenly.
  • Performance Reviews: This module, which is currently being implemented, will support employee evaluations and development through a clearer and more accessible experience for the entire organization.

Another important advantage is the autonomy gained by the People team. Humand can be configured and adapted internally, without relying on developers for every adjustment. This allows the team to respond more quickly to new needs and continue evolving the platform over time.

A 100% connected workforce

Today, all 6,500 people who are part of Ledesma can access the same information, at the same time, from anywhere. In an organization shaped by distance, diverse employee profiles, and very different ways of working, achieving this level of connection made a significant difference.

For the People team, this also meant reducing the time spent answering repetitive questions and managing fragmented requests. The results reflect this transformation: Humand records 5,500 monthly interactions, and 100% of employees have logged into the platform at least once.

More than simply adding a new tool, Ledesma has been able to grow closer to every person in the organization.

“What Humand brought to Ledesma was much greater transparency: the ability to reach every employee. Today, everyone can access all the information, whereas before, some people did not have access to company-wide communications.”
