How FMA Coliving Centralizes Its Remote Operations to Support Growth

With a 100% remote commercial team and a distributed operation, FMA Coliving needed a platform that could simplify work, improve collaboration, and support its growth. In less than 20 days, the company migrated its entire operation from Naloo to Humand, centralized information and communication, and achieved 100% adoption.

Growing with a distributed team requires an increasingly connected operation

At FMA Coliving, work is primarily carried out through a remote and flexible model. The team works remotely from an office and occasionally visits the buildings to stay close to guests and gain first-hand insight into the operation. That is why clear communication, centralized information, and tools that facilitate collaboration are essential to keeping the team aligned and ensuring an efficient operation.

As the business grew, so did the need to simplify processes, improve collaboration, and prevent information from becoming scattered across different channels or tools.

The team needed flexibility to organize work, but also visibility and traceability to know who was expected to work, when, and where.

Before Humand, FMA Coliving used Naloo as its internal management platform, but the tool no longer fully supported the needs of a remote, dynamic, and growing operation. The team was looking for a more collaborative, flexible, and easy-to-adopt solution that could centralize operations and support its scale.

A successful migration in less than 20 days

In addition to finding a platform that fit its way of working, FMA Coliving faced another challenge: time.

By the end of May, the company was approaching one of the busiest periods of its operation. The goal was to have everything up and running before June 25, so the team could enter high season fully migrated and already working on the new platform.

With Humand’s support, FMA Coliving completed the migration in less than 20 days, moving not only its daily operations but also employees’ historical information, personnel files, payslips, and documentation.

The speed of the process ensured that changing platforms did not disrupt the business, but instead became a smooth transition toward a more centralized way of working.

One platform to simplify operations

Today, Humand is one of FMA Coliving’s main spaces for internal communication and management. From a single platform, the team can access information, organize key aspects of daily operations, and stay connected regardless of where they are working.

Among the features they value most are:

  • Time tracking: centralizes clock-ins and workday records for a distributed team.
  • Schedule management: supports the planning of teams with changing dynamics, such as Housekeeping, where shifts need to adapt to guest demand.
  • Internal communication: connects the entire team through groups and shared spaces, reducing reliance on scattered channels.
  • Documents: brings together payslips, employment information, and employee history within a single digital environment.

Centralizing these processes helps reduce friction, simplify everyday tasks, and give the team a single point of access to the information they need.

100% adoption across a remote and distributed team

The implementation reached every FMA Coliving employee, achieving 100% adoption.

For a company with a 100% remote model and a team distributed across different locations, this level of adoption was especially important. The goal from the start was for the platform to be simple and intuitive enough to become part of the team’s daily routine quickly.

But the change was not only about centralizing information and processes. Humand also enabled a more participatory approach to communication. Employees were no longer just recipients of information; they gained a space where they could also interact, share, and stay connected with the rest of the organization.

One of the most frequent pieces of feedback from the team has been the platform’s ease of use and the ability to communicate without having to rely on other channels.

An operation built to keep growing

Centralizing communication, documentation, and different operational processes enabled FMA Coliving to build a more efficient way of working, better prepared to support the company’s growth.

With a fully remote operation, having a shared space becomes increasingly important as the company scales. Today, Humand supports that evolution by providing a flexible foundation that allows FMA Coliving to keep growing without losing coordination or connection across its teams.

“With the technology available today, adopting tools that help us become more efficient is no longer optional, it is a necessity. Humand is a highly recommendable tool for any industry because it can adapt to the specific needs of each operation.”
