Keeping a distributed team connected across Mexico
Asofom’s nationwide presence is reflected in its own team. Employees are based in cities across Mexico, with some working fully remotely and others following a hybrid schedule.
As the association grew and expanded its reach, staying connected became increasingly challenging. Day-to-day communication happened through email, calls, and virtual meetings, while policies, procedures, and company updates were stored in the cloud. Although everything was technically available, employees rarely accessed those files, and it was difficult to know whether important updates had actually reached the entire team.
With people working across different locations and schedules, keeping track of working hours and time off was also becoming more time-consuming than it needed to be.
Everything in one place, accessible from anywhere
With Humand, Asofom brought processes that had previously lived across different channels into one central platform.
The Documents module became the team’s go-to place for policies, procedures, and company updates. Employees can now access everything directly from their phones, whenever they need it, without searching through shared folders or wondering which version is the most up to date.
Asofom also moved other key HR processes into Humand:
- Surveys: Asofom can easily create and manage internal surveys in one place, including NOM-35 assessments.
- Employee Data: Team members can update their personal information, such as a change of address, directly in the platform.
This gives Asofom’s HR team one reliable source of employee information, no matter where people are working from.
A simpler way to manage attendance
Mexico is moving toward a 40-hour workweek, along with new requirements around electronic time tracking. As these changes take shape, having accurate, accessible records of employees’ working hours is becoming increasingly important for companies across the country.
With Humand’s Time Tracking module, Asofom has a clear and reliable record of each employee’s workday. Information is updated in real time and available online, eliminating the need to request reports or manually consolidate information from different sources.
For a team working remotely and in hybrid arrangements across Mexico, being able to manage attendance directly from a phone has become an important part of Asofom’s day-to-day operations.
Looking ahead, the association is also considering adding Humand’s Performance Management module.
As an organization representing hundreds of companies across Mexico, Asofom also has an opportunity to lead by example. By simplifying and digitizing its own internal processes, it is putting into practice the same kind of transformation it encourages across its network.
Building a foundation for continued growth
For Asofom, digitalization is ultimately about being ready for what comes next. With simpler processes, greater visibility, and everything in one place, the association now has a stronger foundation to keep growing while staying connected to a team spread across the country.
