Payway: A Community That Keeps Pace with the Business

Payway needed to move beyond a traditional intranet and find a more agile and engaging way to communicate with its employees. With Humand, it created a digital community with an identity of its own that now connects nearly 700 people and has achieved an adoption rate of over 90%.

From a traditional intranet to more connected communication

Payway relied on a traditional intranet and communications that were mainly shared by email. However, for a young company operating in the constantly evolving payments industry, those channels no longer matched the dynamic employee experience it wanted to build.

The challenge was not simply to replace one tool with another, but to find a more modern way to reach people: a platform that could evolve alongside the organization, easily incorporate new features, and feel familiar from the very first login.

Humand’s social media-like experience played a key role in that decision. Its intuitive navigation, similar to the apps people already use every day, reduced the learning curve and enabled more natural adoption.

A space where business and community come together

With Humand, Payway created an internal community that now serves as one of the company’s main meeting points. It brings together business updates, important communications, and access to everyday tools, as well as recognition, celebrations, and personal stories from across the organization.

This means a company update can appear alongside a colleague’s birthday, a recognition post between teams, or a Marketplace listing. This combination ensures that the platform is not perceived solely as a corporate channel, but as a space that reflects Payway’s identity and everything happening across the company each day.

The community continued to grow through different spaces that combine information, interaction, and practical value. Some of the key modules include:

  • Wall: brings together company communications, business updates, recognition, and content related to Payway’s culture.
  • Marketplace: allows employees to post items to buy, sell, or exchange. With new listings every day, it has become one of the most active spaces on the platform.
  • Chatbot: began as a pilot to provide easier access to information and answers directly within the community.
  • Prediction Game: was designed as a World Cup initiative to create new opportunities for interaction across teams.

A complex transition completed in one week

Humand’s flexibility became even more valuable when Payway went through an organizational split. The team needed to create a new community, transfer employees and existing content, and adapt the space to better reflect the identity of the new company.

The challenge was to manage this transition without losing users or affecting the engagement levels they had already achieved. In just one week, Payway duplicated, migrated, and customized its community, while the change remained almost completely seamless for employees.

The company not only maintained its adoption and engagement levels, but also used the process to build an experience that was more closely aligned with the new chapter it was beginning.

A community people choose to use

Today, more than 90% of Payway’s nearly 700 employees actively participate in the community. The result goes far beyond replacing an intranet: the company has created a space with an identity of its own, bringing together business communications, culture, and connections between people.

The ability to customize the experience, incorporate new tools, and respond quickly to organizational changes has allowed Humand to become a natural part of everyday life at Payway.

“We needed a platform that could keep pace with the speed of change in the industry. With Humand, we can add modules, incorporate new tools, and communicate simply.”
