The challenge of organizing a growing foodservice operation
In the foodservice industry, every day requires coordination, speed, and adaptability. Teams change, new employees join, and operational needs arise across different locations at the same time. For Human Resources, keeping pace with that dynamic without losing visibility had become an increasingly complex challenge.
Before implementing Humand, Norimoto managed many of its processes manually. Information was spread across spreadsheets, emails, forms, and informal channels. This not only made it harder to find a document or reconstruct a request, but also extended response times and increased the risk of certain requests getting lost along the way.
Time-off and permission requests were among the main sources of friction. Employees could submit them by email or through conversations that were not always properly recorded. In some cases, Human Resources only found out that someone was going on vacation on the very day their leave began.
As a result, instead of focusing on higher-impact initiatives, the team had to spend time searching for information, answering repetitive questions, and following up on processes that lacked a clear workflow.
A shared space from day one
Norimoto was looking for a solution that could adapt to the pace of its teams, bring greater order to the operation, and make information easier to access without adding complexity. Humand became that shared space for employees, leaders, and Human Resources.
Today, employees are introduced to the platform as soon as they join the company. Everyone is registered during onboarding or preboarding, so they know from day one where to find information, access their documents, and manage their requests.
Today, 100% of the team uses Humand. Being able to access the platform from either a mobile phone or a computer allowed it to become a natural part of the team’s routine, even in an operation where many employees do not work at a desk. Some of the most widely used modules include:
- Documents: payslips, digital employee files, and employment documentation are available in one place. This speeds up response times and removes the need for manual searches across different files.
- Time off and permissions: each request follows a defined workflow, with an assigned approver and clear visibility into its status. This allows teams to plan ahead while giving Human Resources greater traceability.
- Performance reviews: semiannual evaluations and onboarding-related review stages no longer depend on forms or spreadsheets. Operational leaders can now complete the process more quickly and easily.
- Onboarding: every new employee begins their experience within Humand, making the platform part of their daily routine from the moment they join.
Throughout the implementation process, the Humand team’s close support and fast response times made it possible to understand the specific characteristics of Norimoto’s operation and adapt the platform to its needs.
Greater autonomy for employees, more focus for Human Resources
Centralizing these processes had an immediate impact on the everyday employee experience. Today, employees know where to request time off, access their payslips, review their documentation, or contact Human Resources.
This reduced informal inquiries and enabled employees to handle more tasks independently. For the HR team, it meant having organized information, visible processes, and one central space from which to support the entire operation.
Requests stopped getting lost between messages and emails. Leaders can approve them more quickly, anticipate absences, and check the status of each process. Beyond digitizing tasks, Humand helped Norimoto build an experience aligned with the pace of its business: easy to adopt, accessible from any device, and ready to support its continued growth.
“Employees know they can find everything in one place, from requesting time off and accessing their payslips to getting in touch with us. That made a huge difference for our team.”
