La Gaceta is an organization where areas operate with a high degree of autonomy. While this dynamic is essential in journalism, it also presented a challenge: much of what happened within the organization remained contained within each team. As a result, achievements, awards, good news, and relevant messages did not always reach everyone.
At the same time, administrative processes followed long and manual paths. Many tasks were handled on paper, which slowed down daily operations and added unnecessary friction to management.
From the Human Resources area, the search focused on finding a tool that could strengthen internal communication while also streamlining administrative management. Humand was the platform that best met these needs, making it possible to move away from other applications that had failed to improve transparency and information sharing.
The app was launched in November 2023, and just one month later it had already reached an 80% adoption rate among employees. Humand made it possible to centralize internal communication, digitize key processes, and create a shared space where the entire La Gaceta community can connect and stay in touch.
With the implementation of Humand, many processes that were previously handled on paper moved to a digital format. Everyday tasks such as leave requests, reports, and expense submissions became more agile and transparent.
The management of administrative documents was also optimized. Payslips are a clear example of this high-impact transformation. A system that offered little feedback and slowed things down was replaced with a more collaborative process. Today, each employee uploads their information, supervisors review and approve it, and it is then sent to Human Resources. This change reduced errors and significantly improved efficiency.
At the same time, Humand opened up a space where employees can share news and updates, breaking down internal barriers and encouraging more cross-functional communication.
