We’ve released a powerful enhancement in the Performance Review module: goals can now be evaluated from every direction within the review cycle. Whether it’s a peer, a manager, or a direct report, everyone can now assess what truly matters—your goals.
A More Complete Performance Picture
Performance isn’t one-dimensional—evaluating goals shouldn’t be either. With this update, employee objectives become a shared conversation across the entire feedback cycle, adding clarity and fairness to performance reviews.
Why This Matters
📌 Bringing Goals to the Heart of Feedback
Until now, employee goals were only visible in the manager’s evaluation form. This new feature responds to a highly requested improvement: making goals part of all evaluation templates—self, peer, upward, and more. Here’s why that matters:
- More inclusive feedback: Everyone who collaborates with an employee can now reflect on their goals.
- Better alignment: Self-assessments and peer reviews become grounded in actual objectives.
- Deeper insights: Managers gain richer perspectives when reviewing their team’s performance.
🛠️ What’s Included
With Multi-directional Goal Evaluation, goals can now be shown and assessed in all evaluation directions—if enabled in the templates.
Here’s how it works:
- Template-based control: Admins can choose whether to include goal evaluation in any direction (self, peer, upward, etc.) by activating the “Include Goals” setting in the review templates.
- Goal visibility for all: Once enabled, goals appear not only in manager reviews, but also in other directions—like peers evaluating a teammate’s performance.
- Two input modes:
- Automatic: Progress is calculated based on tracked completion.
- Manual: Reviewers enter their own assessment of progress.
⚠️ Note: If you enable goals in an upward review, team members will be able to view and assess their leader’s goals.
⚠️ To restrict goal visibility in a specific direction, simply ensure the template used does not have the goal evaluation option turned on.
✨ Multi-directional Goal Evaluation in Action
Here are a few examples of how this update improves real-life review scenarios:
- “Can peers give feedback on someone’s goals?” → Yes! Enable goal evaluation in the peer template and they’ll be able to contribute meaningfully.
- “I want team members to review their own progress toward goals.” → Just activate the goal section in the self-evaluation form.
- “Should employees see their leader’s objectives?” → Only if the upward template has goals enabled—your setup defines what’s visible.
- “I prefer automated tracking, can I still use that?” → Absolutely. Select the Automatic mode and goal progress will sync from the Goals module.
- “Can I turn it off for some directions?” → Yes. You have full control via the templates.
